TDM INFORMATION

It is our mission to provide the best technical training to dancers of all ages and abilities in the most positive and loving environment. We strive to educate our dancers in almost all disciplines of dance through ongoing technical training in a supportive, loving, fun and inclusive environment. It is our goal to foster a love and appreciation for dance for both our recreational and competitive dancers, while supporting our students to love and appreciate themselves and others. What sets TDM apart from other competitive studios is our commitment to foundational training, an emphasis on proper technique, award-winning choreography and performance experience in a healthy, family-oriented environment. We believe that mental health and physical health are equally as important, and it is our job to foster both. We can’t wait to dance with you this season!

Weather Closures:

The Dance Movement follows SVVSD for school weather closures. When SVVSD is closed DUE TO WEATHER, The Dance Movement will also be closed. If SVVSD has a “remote learning” day, TDM will likely be closed.

If SVVSD is NOT closed, but The Dance Movement feels it is unsafe for dancers and staff to travel, we will let you know no later than 2pm for classes starting at 4:00/4:30pm, or 8am for morning classes. In most cases, families will receive an email informing them of the closure.  Please also check the website or The Dance Movement Facebook/Instagram page for confirmation. The safety of our Staff and Dancers is always our priority!

No refunds or make-up classes will be issued for weather closures.

TDM’s Make-up Class Policy:

The Dance Movement does NOT allow make-ups for dancer absences due to illness, travel, etc.  Many of our classes are full and the integrity of the class instruction is affected, as well as the safety of dancers when the class size is too large. This is strictly enforced.

If The Dance Movement closes or cancels a class for unexpected reasons, the dancers affected will be allowed to make-up the missed class by taking a similar class at the same level.  All make-up classes must be made within 2 weeks of the closure/cancellation. Refunds will not be given.  This does not apply to weather closures.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

TDM’s Tardy Policy:

If a dancer is more than 15 minutes late, they may be asked to observe the remainder of the class. The first 15 of each class is dedicated to warm-ups, and if a dancer does not warm-up properly, they risk injury.

A class will never be modified or extended to accommodate a dancer that is tardy, nor will refunds be offered.

If a dancer/dancers in the class are more than 20 minutes late, and class attendance is less than 2 dancers, the teacher reserves the right to cancel class. Refunds will not be offered to tardy dancers.

TDM’s Dress Code Policy:

  • Ballet: All dancers must wear a leotard (any color), pink tights and ballet shoes. Students must have their hair pulled back into a bun or a low pony-tail if their hair is too short for a bun. This is mandatory for all dancers. If dancers do not arrive to ballet class with the appropriate attire / hair, they will not be allowed to participate in the class.

  • Hip Hop: Please ensure your dancer has some sort of athletic shoes for hip hop classes.

TDM’s Payment Policy:

  • All dancers are required to have a valid credit card on file.

  • Tuition will be charged on the first of each month to the credit card on file.

  • Spring Showcase Recital Fees and Costume Fees for the Recital will be applied to the credit card on file. It is not obligatory for dancers to participate in the Recital. Our TDM Faculty will provide more information in April 2025 regarding this event and these fees.

  • Late tuition payments will incur an additional fee of $35 every three (3) days that the payment is past due.
